There is a moment at every wedding I photograph when the room stops performing.

The speeches are finished. The light has gone low and gold. Someone's grandmother is holding someone's hand. And two people who have been watched all day finally forget that anyone is watching.

That is the photograph. That is the entire reason I do this.

What I believe about a wedding day

A wedding is not a list of events to be documented. It is one day with a shape to it. A rise, a held breath, a release. My work is to feel that shape and photograph it honestly.

So I work quietly. I compose with intention. Mostly, I wait.

My images are film inspired and true to color. In practice that means your skin looks like your skin, and your mother's dress is the color she actually chose. Not a trend laid over your day. In twenty years you will not look at these photographs and see the year they were taken. You will see yourselves.

I photograph 18 weddings a year and no more. That is not a marketing position, it is a practical one. It is the only way I know to arrive at your wedding unhurried. Having already thought about your light, your timeline, and the room where your father will see you for the first time.

And because you are trusting me with a day you cannot repeat

I am a wife. I am the mother of three, which is a longer way of saying that I have spent years learning to notice the quiet thing happening at the edge of a room while everything loud happens in the middle.

I know what a wedding day asks of a family. I know your grandparents will need to sit down. I know your mother has been imagining one particular photograph for twenty years and has probably not told you which one. I know the twelve minutes you set aside for portraits will turn into eight.

None of that worries me. I have never met a timeline that survived contact with a real wedding day, and I have never needed one to.

What it is like to work with me

You will hear back from me. That is the short and honest version.

Before your wedding we will talk properly. About your day, your family, the moments that matter most to you and the ones you would rather I handled discreetly. I will help you build a timeline that protects your light and your dinner. On the day itself I am present and almost invisible.

Within 48 hours you will have your first images. Within six to eight weeks you will have all of them, in a gallery built to be printed, framed, and handed down.

The couples I tend to work with

They chose their venue for its architecture, or its light. They care about the invitation suite even though it ends up in a drawer. They would rather have six hundred photographs they love than three thousand they will never open.

They are not looking for a photographer. They are looking for the right one.
